Putin Expresses Support for U.S. Proposal to End Ukraine Conflict

Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that the proposal “could form the basis of a final peace agreement.”Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, on the other hand, said that Ukraine is facing one of the most difficult moments in its history.

Zelensky first warned that Ukraine risks losing the United States as a key partner due to Washington’s efforts to put its ideas into action. In his address to the nation, however, he said that he is working constructively with the U.S. on the proposals.

President Trump, while not explicitly saying that Kyiv must accept the plan, which includes suggestions such as handing over territories it currently controls and which it had previously rejected, noted that there is an “appropriate deadline.”
