“If Iran does not fully and peacefully reopen the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours from this moment, the United States will strike and destroy various energy facilities, starting with the largest ones. Thank you for your attention to this matter.”
Iran, in response, warned that any attacks on its energy infrastructure would be met with retaliation against all U.S.-linked energy assets across the Middle East.
Trump’s threat came after he stated, “Iran wants to make a deal. I don’t,” signaling a shift in tone. The U.S. President had previously indicated that he was considering scaling down operations against Iran.
