Zelensky Says He Is Ready for One-on-One Talks With Putin

Donald Trump called Vladimir Putin to arrange a direct meeting between the Russian and Ukrainian presidents.

Volodymyr Zelensky and European leaders met with Trump at the White House to discuss ending the war in Ukraine.

Trump stated that security guarantees for Ukraine would be provided by European countries “with U.S. coordination.” European leaders welcomed Trump’s proposal on security assurances.

While Trump does not view a ceasefire as a prerequisite for a peace deal, French and German leaders echoed Zelensky’s call for an immediate ceasefire.
