As U.S. President Donald Trump met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House, the administration unveiled Trump’s 20-point Gaza peace plan.

📌 Israel will maintain what is described as a “security perimeter presence” inside Gaza — a vague term that could imply a buffer zone.

📌 The plan does not require civilians to leave Gaza and envisions an immediate end to the war if both sides agree.

📌 Within 72 hours of Israel’s acceptance, all remaining hostages are to be released. In exchange, Israel would free Palestinians serving life sentences in its prisons as well as those detained in Gaza since the start of the war.

📌 The broader Middle East peace plan calls for the return of all Israeli hostages, dead or alive, an end to Israeli strikes on Qatar, and the launch of a new dialogue between Israelis and Palestinians for peaceful coexistence.

📌 Gaza would be temporarily administered by a ‘Technocratic, Apolitical Palestinian Committee’ under the supervision of a new international transitional body led by the Peace Council.

📌 Hamas would have no role — direct, indirect, or otherwise — in governance.

The plan has been endorsed by the UK, France, Italy, and Germany, while the Palestinian Authority, which governs the Israeli-occupied West Bank, also welcomed Trump’s proposal.

The conflict traces back to October 7, 2023, when Hamas-led attacks in southern Israel killed around 1,200 people and took 251 hostages. In response, Israel launched its Gaza campaign, which has since claimed the lives of more than 65,000 Palestinians, both civilians and fighters.
