“They Can’t Marry, Can’t Fight in Wars – But They Will Vote!”

The voting age in the United Kingdom is being lowered to 16.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer argues that 16- and 17-year-olds are “old enough to go out and work, old enough to pay taxes,” and therefore should have the right to vote.

However, Conservatives question the decision, pointing out that while 16-year-olds will be able to vote, they still won’t be allowed to marry or serve in the military.
