"What’s Going On With Russia Violating Polish Airspace With Drones?"
It was reported that Russian drones had violated Polish airspace and that the Polish military, along with NATO, shot down several of them.
Following this unprecedented escalation, U.S. President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social: “What’s going on with Russia violating Polish airspace with drones? Here we go.” His statement heightened concerns.
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, stressing that the country is closer to open war than at any time since World War II, said that Poland had invoked NATO’s Article 4, which allows members to request consultations with allies.
“We are facing a major provocation. We are ready to repel such provocations. The situation is serious, and no one should doubt that we must be prepared for various scenarios. However, there is no need to panic.”
Russia, meanwhile, dismissed the accusations as “baseless,” arguing that Poland had provided no evidence proving the downed drones were of Russian origin.
Under NATO’s Article 4, an extraordinary meeting is expected to be convened, bringing member states together for consultations.
