Trump Changes Mind: “I Might Be in Istanbul on Friday”

U.S. President Donald Trump visited Qatar as part of his Middle East tour and held a press conference in Doha, where he stated that he might travel to Turkey on Friday.

Commenting on the upcoming peace talks between Ukraine and Russia set to take place in Istanbul, Trump said:

“I might be in Istanbul on Friday. I said if I don’t go, Putin won’t go either — and I was right.”

This statement came just 24 hours after the White House had officially announced that Trump would not attend the Istanbul talks.
