U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that American forces launched airstrikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities—Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan—using B-2 heavy bombers.
In a post on social media hours after the operation, Trump stated:
“Iran’s key nuclear enrichment sites have been completely destroyed. The bully of the Middle East now has no choice but to make peace. It’s either peace, or tragedy for Iran. Tonight was the hardest and most revitalizing operation ever. No other army in the world could have done this. Now is the time for peace. A full payload was dropped on Fordow. This is a historic moment for the U.S., Israel, and the world. All aircraft have now exited Iranian airspace safely. Congratulations to our great American warriors.”
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed his gratitude to Trump via video message:
“Congratulations President Trump. Your bold decision to target Iran’s nuclear facilities with the just and mighty power of the U.S. military will change history. This strike is a turning point that will bring peace to the Middle East.”
Netanyahu also confirmed the attack was carried out in full coordination with the Israeli military.
In its first official response, Iran condemned the strike as a violation of international law. The National Nuclear Security System Center later reported that no radioactive leakage was detected around the bombed sites.
