Protel, the Women in Technology Association (Wtech), and Özyeğin University have joined forces to launch the Protel TechWomen Academy, a program designed to increase female employment in tourism and promote equal opportunities in technology.

The initiative provides women with specialized sector training, helping them enhance their digital competencies in hotel management and strengthen their role in the rapidly digitalizing tourism industry.

Protel CFO İlkiz Özcan highlighted the significance of the project:

“Supporting women to become more visible and powerful in the digitalizing tourism sector is not just a responsibility for us—it’s a priority. With Protel TechWomen Academy, we aim to offer not only education, but also a sustainable, qualified, and transformation-driven career opportunity. In a time when tourism technologies are evolving rapidly, it is crucial for women to play an active role in this transformation. Our goal is for participants to graduate with not only technical skills but also sector awareness and self-confidence. At Protel, we take pride in leading projects that merge technology with social benefit and in contributing to women’s journey in digital tourism.”
