Canada, the United States, and Australia have warned about potential terrorist attacks in Germany.
Germany, popular among tourists for its nature, cities, historic sites, and fairytale castles, received an unexpected travel alert.
Canada recently raised its travel risk level for Germany from “green” to “yellow”, advising travelers to exercise “extreme caution” due to the possibility of terrorist attacks.
The United States issued a similar warning. According to information still on the U.S. State Department’s Germany page, terrorist groups and individual attackers continue to pose a threat in Germany, as in the rest of Europe. The statement emphasizes that attacks may occur without prior warning or a specific target.
Australia also issued warnings, urging its citizens to remain vigilant against potential terrorist attacks in Germany. The alert noted incidents in the past year involving knife and vehicle attacks and encouraged the public to report suspicious activities to the police.
France previously advised its citizens to exercise caution regarding potential attacks in Germany, while Switzerland specifically highlighted the need for vigilance in demonstration areas.
China, which classifies Germany as generally safe, noted an increase in thefts and phone scams in certain areas in recent years, adding that the solving rate for these crimes remains low.
