An ICE train traveling from Munich to Hamburg was halted near Rohrbach in the Main-Spessart region due to an air conditioning system failure, leaving passengers stranded for hours.

Although officials stated that the train was technically still operable, it was decided that the journey could not safely continue.

Around 350 passengers were forced to wait as the train remained motionless on the tracks.

Deutsche Bahn dispatched a replacement ICE train to Würzburg station. Once prepared, passengers were carefully evacuated from the stranded train and transferred to the new one using special transfer bridges, with the support of Federal Police, firefighters, and medical staff. The passengers then continued their journey.

Deutsche Bahn apologized for the incident and reminded passengers of their rights in the event of technical disruptions. Since such technical failures are not classified as force majeure, passengers are entitled to compensation: 25% of the ticket price for delays over one hour, and 50% for delays over two hours.
