EU: "We See Türkiye as a Security Actor"

The European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, stated that the EU views Türkiye as an actor in the field of security and expressed satisfaction with Istanbul's recent role as a center for mediation.

📌 Yet a pressing question arises:

If the EU considers Türkiye a "security actor," why does it consistently and increasingly reject Schengen and other visa applications (such as those for education and family reunification) from Turkish citizens? Why are the doors so tightly shut?

A convincing and realistic explanation is long overdue.This contradiction between diplomatic rhetoric and practical policy remains a source of frustration and skepticism for many in Türkiye.
