Geert Wilders’ anti-Islam Freedom Party (PVV) faces a tight contest in the Dutch elections, and even if it secures victory, forming a new government appears highly unlikely.
Wilders, who emerged as the clear winner in the November 2023 elections, now seems to be losing ground, according to the latest public opinion polls conducted ahead of the vote.
Despite his previous success, coalition-building remains a major challenge, as many mainstream parties continue to distance themselves from cooperating with him due to his far-right stance and polarizing rhetoric.
