Across Europe, countries are tapping into remote work by offering digital nomad visas to attract international professionals.
From Croatia to Spain, many nations are making it easier for non-EU citizens to obtain temporary residence permits while working remotely for foreign companies.
Which digital nomad visas are available in Europe?
🔸 Croatia
Visa duration: One year, with the possibility of renewal
Income requirement: Approx. €2,500/month
This program is open to non-EU/EEA citizens working in the field of information and communication technologies, either through their own companies registered abroad or as remote employees of a company based outside Croatia.
🔸 Czech Republic
Visa duration: Up to one year
Financial requirement: €5,000 in a bank account
Designed for non-EU citizens who are self-employed or running their own businesses.
🔸 Estonia
Visa duration: One year, with a six-month extension option
Income requirement: €4,500/month
Applicants must demonstrate a minimum net monthly income of at least €3,500 over the six months preceding the application.
🔸 Finland
Visa duration: Six months
Income requirement: €1,220/month
Finland’s self-employment visa is open to non-EU entrepreneurs who are self-employed or operating independent businesses.
🔸 Greece
Visa duration: One year, extendable via a residence permit
Income requirement: €3,500/month
🔸 Hungary
Visa duration: One year, with renewal option
Income requirement: €3,000/month
Hungary’s “White Card” visa is open to non-EU digital nomads working remotely from outside the country.

Income requirement: €28,000/yearApplicants must meet several conditions, including having health insurance and a clean criminal record.

This one-year permit is open to non-EU citizens.

Eligible non-EU digital nomads can apply for a residence permit and independent contractor visa to live and work remotely in Norway.

Income requirement: €3,280/month
Open to non-EU citizens working for a company based outside Portugal or who are self-employed. The new scheme serves as an alternative to the existing D7 visa aimed at retirees and individuals with passive income.
🔸 Slovenia
Visa duration: 12 months, non-renewable
Income requirement: Approx. €3,200/month
Valid for citizens of countries outside the EU and EEA.
🔸 Spain
Visa duration: One year, extendable up to five years
Income requirement: Currently €2,334/month
