BYD, the electric vehicle manufacturer that became the first company to completely halt fossil fuel vehicle production in 2022, has shipped 7,000 electric vehicles to Turkey. The vehicles arrived at Safiport Port in Kocaeli after a 39-day sea voyage aboard the specially designed "BYD Changzhou" ship.
According to data from the Automotive Distributors and Mobility Association (ODMD), BYD became the fastest-growing brand in Turkey’s passenger car market in the first quarter of 2025.
In March, BYD launched its TANG model, and with the addition of DOLPHIN, ATTO 3, SEAL U DM-i, SEAL U EV, HAN, and SEAL AWD models, the total number of models offered in Turkey reached seven. By the end of April, the DOLPHIN "Comfort" trim will be launched, and the SEALION 7 model will be introduced in the third quarter of the year.
In 2023, BYD, the global leader in plug-in hybrid and electric vehicle sales, sold over 4 million new-generation vehicles. Source: Yeni Şafak
