Appeals Will No Longer Be Allowed
Germany’s Foreign Ministry has announced that, starting July 1, 2025, individuals whose visa applications are rejected will no longer be able to file appeals with consulates.
Officials argue that removing the right to appeal will:
Increase processing capacity
Reduce consular staff workload
Shorten waiting times
Applicants will still have the right to reapply for a visa or pursue legal action through the courts.
Last year, Germany processed around 2 million visa applications.
